Wrocław: the city of one hundred bridges and many creative people

Wrocław has announced top 30 most creative people living in the city. Readers of the city’s information portal voted for their favorites in four categories: society/city; culture/art/design; science; business. The key words that identify the winners are: talent, passion and innovation. The nominees included world-famous inventors and constructors of space vehicles; experienced designers and exceptionally talented people of culture. The jury selected 30 laureates out of hundreds of recommendations sent in by city dwellers.

– Creative people see the bright side. Wrocław is a highly creative city. Wrocław is the city where highly creative people live. For the third time in row we are presenting 30 most creative people – said the mayor of Wrocław, Rafał Dutkiewicz, under whose auspices the event took place. These are people who want more, do more, and have the courage to take risks to make their dreams come true. They make Wrocław a better place to live.

– We have selected people who make their dreams come true and change Wrocław. They make the city a fantastic place to live.– said Ewa Kaucz, the Chairman of ARAW, opening the event. Similarly to the previous editions of the event, achievements of the laureates: activities, passions, motivation, key to success, and the role of Wrocław in their lives, were presented on the city’s websites. Last year the website was visited 1.6 million times. One of the laureates is Pasibus, which equals hard work, high quality, enthusiasm and expansion under the Wrocław flag. Congratulations Dawid, Piotr, Jan!  Bravo!

The culture/art/design category included the renowned conductor Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny, photographer Magdalena Franczuk, architect Dagmara Oliwa, and siblings Karolina and Michał Bieniek. Adam Domanasiewicz, PhD has received a distinction for his work in the field of science. This world-class surgeon and transplantologist defined creativity as the ability to distinguish what is impossible from what is commonly perceived a impossible. The nominees also included the members of the Dream project, creators of the “cosmic drill”, constructors of the SatRevolution satellites. Activists from the Stowarzyszenie Zmieniaj Zakrzów and Made in Brochów as well as Natálie Raclavská, a Czech making a great career in Wrocław, have been awarded in the final category.

During the previous editions of the event the following entrepreneurs have been awarded: Michał Sadowski, a founder of the Brand24, PWR Racing Team, world-famous for its bolides; Olga Malinkiewicz, an outstanding physicist; as well as musicians, designers, and craftsmen. Many of them have been guests at our brewery. They are the salt of the Earth; the core of creative economy. We are very happy to see craft as part of the creative sector. This change makes a big difference. We can fight for the role of a trademark of cities and regions. We see the image-building and creative potential behind craft brewing.
