ART.+19 Rye Brut IPA
This youngest IPA style, Brut IPA, a light and hazy super refined beer bridging the gap between New England IPA (DDH IPA) and West Coast IPA, is famous for its impressive attenuation achieved by adding an unusual extra ingredient during the mashing process, namely glucoamylase that produces starch fermented sugars. This way, the beer becomes very refined and it is recommended to lower its bitterness level. Still, the hoppy aroma has been well preserved! Similarly to DDH DIPA, Brut IPA is double hopped, first during the fermentation and then ageing process. This time we have used a mix of the following hops: Amarilo, Azacca and El Dorado, which give you a tropical and citrus kick. |

This intensely aromatic cold hopped brew is filled with tropical, citrus and resinous varieties of American hops.
Malts/extract:
As Brut IPA it a really light beer in colour, we have used nothing but light malts in the grist. Wheat flakes produce it haziness while rye malts account for slightly more dense texture. The extract of nearly 13% may be surprising for an IPA style but thanks to high attenuation the alcohol contents amount to 6.9%. Don’t be misled. This is an aromatic and drinkable but a really strong beer!
Hops:
Hopping Brut IPA is quite a challenge! It is easy to overhop this refined beer and then it may turn too bitter. This is why we have used minimum hops during wort boiling but made it up with loads during cold hopping. The HopGun has been filled with abundance of Azacca, Amarillo and El Dorado – all very tropical and very citrus hops.
